Wow, if tests show the camera did weaken the helmet in some way that could have a massive global impact.

It seemed slightly odd in this account because the camera was described as being fine, but you are totally right. So many folks use them that way.

Right. Helmet cameras are everywhere. Skiing and snowboarding, skateboarding, motorcycles, bicycles, auto racing... Hell, I'm watching the Olympics right now and I've seen three competitors wearing cameras for the official Olympic broadcasts. Imagine if Schumacher's accident results in people and organizations banning helmet cameras, temporarily if not permanently.
